I have always been into crafting. I have a varied and wide crafting history such as refinishing furniture, creating jewelry from paper currency, knitting, canning foods, and so much more! I use my ADHD for good! While watching "Alaska, the last Frontier" many years ago, I saw someone use a microwave transformer to make fractal wood burning art for a Christmas gift~ I was intrigued! I asked my adult children to find me a safer replacement, and they did! Such smart kiddos~ They found that a neon transformer is less powerful but still makes unique designs. I used the neon transformer method for years, finally "upgrading" to a microwave transformer in the past few years. With the help of my amazing children, We have found a way to do it safely! If you google the hazards of making this type of art, you will see how incredibly dangerous it really is! This is NOT an art that just anyone can do!! I use a live electrical current to create one of a kind pieces of functional art a to become a part of your home.
Each and every piece is TOTALLY unique! Each piece of wood has its own density, grain and humidity in the air are all factors in how the wood will burn so There is NO way to replicate the patterns on the wood. I have figured out a way to direct it better. I can make shapes and bold lettering. I have found that adding epoxy resin and pigment for color add to the look of each pice.
